After a rough night at St. Charles East the Warriors were challenged on their competitive spirit and came through with flying colors in a conference meet at Dekalb. The Warriors won 7-0 but not for some nail bitters at 1 doubles and at 4th doubles. Anika and Isha Srinivasan pulled things together midway through the first set down 1-4 and making unforced errors all over the place. I felt once they won sixth game they relaxed and started to make adjustments in their strokes. Last year they may have struggled to win this match but they worked together and got things figured out. Also, at 4 doubles where Rachel Hammelman and Alison Albrecht won the first set 6-0 they decided to go go down 5-2 in the second set only to regroup and win 4 games in a row ending the match at 7-5. I was proud of them adjusting from hitting to people at the net and either moving the ball down the line or working over the net girl. "Every team needs a win and tonight we needed this. I want to thank the girls for their effort and really appreciate the bus ride home. The Warriors will compete in the Rosary Invite this weekend at Washington Middle School.
